2016 -2017 EYC Foundation Events

It’s been a very busy year for Foundation programs! Thank you to the many volunteers, sponsors, supporters, friends and board members for your commitment of time, energy, funding and equipment that made it all possible!  The 6th Annual Marine & Maritime Career Fair held in February 2016 was a huge success, with over 50 exhibitors and 300 students attending. We need many more volunteers (including teachers and fundraising pros) to join us for a very busy 2016-2017 program year.  Please email Pam Ray at This email address is being protected from spambots. EYC Latitude Adjustment Party---Outstanding Marine Wizards

Thank you to all the sponsors of the upcoming 2016 EYC Latitude Adjustment Party (formerly known as the Spring Cotillion) to be held on June 9, 2016 which will celebrate marine tradesmen, sailboat racers and friends in the Corinthian spirit!  The Foundation has been an active partner in this event since 2008 when both the Foundation's Marine & Maririjme Scholarship Program (formerly known as MAST)  and the Outstanding Marine Wizards initiatives made their debut.

Stay tuned -- the announcement for the 2016 Outstanding Marine Wizards will be made on June 9, 2016!  Want to nominate a trades person as an Outstanding Marine Wizards -- Click here for details.

EYC has named the EYC Foundation as the beneficiary of this event!  Click here  for more details on the Latitude Adjustment Party.

Marine & Maritime Scholarship Program

This program provides annual scholarships to promising high school graduates who want to work in the maritime industry. This program compliments our annual Marine & Maritime Career Fair (Save the Date: February 25, 2017) for students and parents in grades 6-12 who are interested in discovering career pathways into the industry.  The Foundation is currently taking applications for this year's scholarships.  Click here for more information.

STEM through Sailing & Boating –  5th Grade Program

On May 31st, June 1st & 2nd, fifth grade students from Annapolios Elementary, Georgetown Elementary & Eastport Elementary Schools covered the grounds of EYC to experience hands-on learning of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) skills through sailing and boating.  Four hands-on learning modules included: Mechanical Advantage, Effects of Wind on Land and Water, Effects of Tides on Vessel Navigation and Ecosystem Health.

The kids spend a half a day on land and a half day out on the Bay. Our Program Partners for this program are Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) and the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).

This program exemplifies the Foundation’s mission to promote participation in boating, education in the marine industry and environmental stewardship of the Chesapeake Bay.  (STEM Program:  Palma Wilson & Laura Pinto).  For more information on the EYCF STEM Program, click here
