About the Foundation

The Eastport Yacht Club Foundation [EYCF] is an independent corporation established to carry out the philanthropic goals of the Eastport Yacht Club [EYC]. The Foundation, a 501c3 educational corporation, works closely with the Yacht Club to raise funds for specific community programs, including community Scholarships for both the EYC Learn to Sail program and our educational initiative MAritime Skills Training [MAST]. The programs we support provide an awareness and understanding of the Chesapeake Bay, the sciences related to boating and training opportunities for maritime careers.

The EYC Foundation provides financial support and leadership training through grants to partner organizations and programs that meet our mission. The EYCF initiatives are managed and coordinated by a Volunteer Board who devote their time, energy, experience and resources to fulfill the EYCF mission.

Our Mission

EYCF promotes participation in boating, education in the marine trades and an understanding and appreciation of Chesapeake Bay through collaborative programming, fundraising, and community partnerships.

The EYC Foundation’s Vision:

The primary mission of the foundation is to develop, execute and supervise programs that target area youth and encompass the Foundation’s mission.

Funding

Obtaining adequate funding is of critical importance in meeting the Foundation’s mission.  We rely on individual donations and significant contributions from companies and organizations. We also appreciate funding that comes as a designated beneficiary of some of Eastport Yacht Club public events. Funds are solicited by volunteer members of the Foundation through presentations and the writing of grants.
