ELEMENTARY SCHOOL:  The “STEM through Sailing & Boating” program reached over 340 students in 2017 through our partnerships with Eastport/Annapolis elementary schools, Anne Arundel County Adaptive Camp, EYC Junior Sailing camps and with our “Jr Sailing Summer Camp Scholarships” which hosted recipients from Seeds4Success, a local nonprofit.

MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE & TECH TRAINING:  Our 8th Annual “Marine & Maritime Career Fair” hosted 50 exhibitors and over 500 students who explored career opportunities and internships with business, industry, nonprofits, associations, government agencies and the military as well as educational opportunities with high schools, college and technical training organizations.  Mark your calendar for the 9th annual Marine & Maritime Career Fair at Annapolis High School on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES:  The “Marine & Maritime Scholarships” program awarded $20K for the 2017-18 school year to ten high school graduates pursuing marine and maritime careers through 4-year college, 2-year college or marine trades technical training programs.

  • EYCF Scholarship Endowments  ($10K over 10 years)
  • The 2017 Stephen Voorhis Scholarship (endowed by an EYC member) was created to honor Steve’s life-long commitment to boating, a professional career in the marine trades, his passion for boat building and inspiring youth to follow in his footsteps.  The 2017 recipient was a graduate of South River High School and the CAT South Marine Technology program and is attending SUNY Maritime.

HIGH SCHOOL & COLLEGE:  The “Community Grants” program funded summer student internship programs focused on environmental stewardship with both the Back Creek Conservancy (BCC) and the Spa Creek Conservancy (SCC).
